The second-generation Crown Majesta sat at the top of the S150 lineup as Toyota's domestic flagship below the Century. Available exclusively as a pillarless hardtop, it paired the 1UZ-FE V8 or 2JZ-GE inline-6 with a luxury-focused interior that out-spec'd the standard Crown in virtually every category. Assembly took place at the Motomachi and Tahara plants in Aichi Prefecture.
The Majesta used three distinct chassis codes for its 4.0L V8 variants (UZS151, UZS155, UZS157), each mapped to a specific trim level and drivetrain — this is unusual in the Crown range, where a single chassis code typically serves multiple trims.

The C Type had two price levels at each facelift — likely corresponding to different option packages. The lower-spec ran around ¥4,920,000–¥4,980,000 and the higher around ¥5,320,000–¥5,420,000.
A key mid-cycle change occurred in July 1997: the V8 models on UZS151 (C Type) and UZS157 (F Type) were upgraded from 4-speed automatic to 5-speed automatic. This is reflected in the katashiki — the model IDs changed at that point:

The C Type i-Four's 190 kg weight penalty over the base C Type reflects the full-time 4WD system and transfer case.
